Theatre Projects wins a PLASA award

November 21, 2013

Theatre Projects took home the project category award for our work on the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, during the 6th annual PLASA "Rock Our World" Awards—part of the PLASA's Cocktail & Awards Reception held at LDI. As one of eight finalists, we are honored to receive the prestigious award.

According to PLASA, the "Rock Our World" awards were created to "honor groundbreaking achievement by PLASA members and to acknowledge the genius of both the creator of technology and the designer or integrator who applies the technology in a real world environment."

The opera house, which opened in 2011, is Oman’s premier venue for arts and culture. The 1,000- to 1,100-seat flexible auditorium has an adjustable shell and proscenium which can be expanded or reduced to fit any production’s scale. In it short lifespan, the acclaimed venue has already shown its versatility, hosting symphonies, recitals, chamber music, and staged productions of opera, dance and musicals.
