Theatre Projects founder, Richard Pilbrow, will kick off the educational seminar program of PLASA Focus: Orlando on Tuesday, February, 17 at 9 am. His presentation, titled, Light and Theatre—50 years of Change, will examine the previous 50 years of stage lighting, theatre technology, theatre architecture, and the revolutionary changes in those disciplines during that time. He will also discuss what the future might hold for those the world of theatre. Following the presentation, Richard will sign copies of his book, A Theatre Project, from his booth on the show floor.
"The regional PLASA Focus sessions are always special," Richard said. "They present the most interesting technical innovations where meeting one’s peers and good conversation is possible in a more intimate local environment than is possible at the annual national events. It’s particularly special for me this year in Orlando where we recently opened the amazing Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts."
PLASA Focus gives attendees the chance to network with the theatre industry's leading manufacturers, dealers, rental houses, and production companies, and check out the latest technologies and techniques. Those in attendance can also take part in a free program of seminars, product demonstrations, and product training. The two-day PLASA Focus: Orlando will take place in Orlando’s Rosen Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, February 17 from 9 am to 5 pm then conclude on Wednesday, February 18 from 10 am to 4 pm.
