With a strong background in theatrical production and drafting and equipment design, Andrew brings a thorough understanding of a theatre’s technical needs to his design and selection of theatre equipment. Well-versed in the engineering aspects of stage construction and design, Andrew is responsible for drafting design and construction documents, reviewing submittal documents, and the commissioning of rigging and lighting systems. He also manages our BIM standards and process.
Andrew joined Theatre Projects from the School of Theatre at Florida State University, where he worked as master carpenter and assistant shop manager for their scene shop and taught AutoCAD and Intro to Scenery Construction. He has also guest lectured at the Yale School of Drama on AutoCAD for the theatre.
Andrew has more than a decade of technical theatre experience, including as the technical director at Kenyon College in Ohio, assistant technical director for the Delaware Theatre Company (Wilmington, DE), assistant technical director for New Stage Theatre (Jackson, MI), carpenter at Arena Stage (Washington, DC), as well as lighting and sound production experience in many other venues.
Andrew received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre design/technology from Otterbein College and his Master of Fine Arts in theatrical technical production from Florida State University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, and playing video games.
