Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Orlando, Florida, USA

A project nearly three decades in the making, this new 330,000 square foot arts center is a community hub, a nexus for arts education, and a vital economic engine. We provided guidance from the earliest stages, helping clarify clients’ vision, and unifying their needs. The facility features a stunning 2,730-seat Broadway-style theatre, which we designed for exceptional intimacy, comfort, performance flexibility, and ease-of-use for multi-truck touring acts. For community arts groups, we designed a 304-seat courtyard theatre capable of multiple stage configurations and featuring no seat is farther than 35 feet from the stage. The center also includes an education corridor with specialized arts classrooms, and three elegant event-hosting areas. The second phase will include an incredible 1,700-seat multiform theatre, capable of transforming the room’s architecture between opera house and concert hall.
