Acadiana Center for the Arts

Lafayette, Louisiana, USA

This 46,000 square foot, multi-faceted arts and cultural facility is designed to reflect Acadiana’s reputation as the heart of a broad variety of cultures. At the center of Cajun country, the theatre was designed to accommodate a wide array of programming, from dance and drama, to spoken word, electrified or acoustic music, film, and more. Theatre Projects and the architect designed the space to adapt to many touring and community groups as well as numerous performance types. Telescopic seating risers and an adjustable stage allow the room to convert from flat floor to proscenium, thrust and in the round configurations. With those variable configurations, adjustable acoustic elements, and state-of-the-art AV systems, the arts center is well equipped to act as a community center, educational space, and intimate performance venue.
