Derngate

Northampton, UK

Using air pallette technology to move audience seating towers, this 1,200 to 1,500-seat theatre can change from a shoebox-shaped symphony hall to a horseshoe opera house to a flat floor arena for banquets, exhibitions, and sporting events. Each configuration provides the highest quality acoustic and performance conditions for audiences and performers. Derngate is one of the most active performing arts centers in the UK with over 390 performances in the main hall per year. The hall's flexibility is in constant use with 2/3 changeovers per week.
