Musée Yves Saint Laurent
A unique museum to honor the legacy of iconic French fashion designer, Yves Saint Laurent, has been created on the grounds of Jardin Majorelle—a 12-acre botanical garden, artist’s landscape garden, museum complex, and site of Saint Laurent’s former home with partner Pierre Bergé. Designed to provide visitors with an immersive experience into the world of Saint Laurent, the museum’s 115-seat auditorium offers regular informational screenings as part of the museum’s exhibit using state-of-the-art sound and projection systems. This technical infrastructure also allows the venue to offer film screenings and live broadcasts of concert and theatre performances from around the world.
In addition, the room can be transformed into an intimate recital hall for classical music concerts. We’ve designed a variable acoustics system that allows the room to switch from the amplified acoustics needed for the daily projection screenings to one that responds to the qualities of live performances. We’ve also sensitively integrated all the technical systems into the room design, providing a distraction-free performance environment so the artists and audience can create a shared sense of energy during performances.
