Crosstown Concourse

Memphis, Tennessee, USA

The 1.5 million square foot Crosstown Concourse is an adaptive reuse of a historic 10-story Sears distribution center and retail store into a vertical urban village. The formerly abandoned facility, which originally opened in 1927, was reimagined as a vibrant epicenter of culture and commerce. The mixed-use complex brings together arts, dining, education, retail, residential, religious, and healthcare facilities under one roof, and includes an intimate and versatile 457-seat courtyard theatre capable of endstage, thrust, and flat floor configurations. The newly constructed performance space is connected to the renovated facility and will host community theatre groups, and regional touring acts, serving as the artistic and cultural heart of the sprawling facility.
