Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center
This 388,000 square foot mixed-use center features the 2,300-seat Mead Theatre—a state-of-the-art multipurpose theatre designed to accommodate a diverse array of programming. The theatre delivers stunning aural and visual experiences and incredible intimacy for a room its size—the last row is only 120 feet from the stage! The forestage can extend more than 25 feet into the house using three orchestra lifts, recreating the configuration of an acoustic concert hall. The theatre features a demountable shell and a full Broadway-sized pit. Three balconies and side boxes stack the audience vertically around the room and wrap them around the stage, creating an environment that fosters unforgettable performances. The center also includes a 150-seat studio theatre and a spectacular six-story glass atrium, which ties the individual pieces together. The atrium includes a small community stage, and sits adjacent to a restaurant. Through the atrium, the arts center connects to a luxury 18-story office and condominium tower.
