Grieghallen

Europe
The 150,000 square foot Grieghallen is named after Edvard Grieg and has been the home of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra since the hall’s completion in 1978. After 30 years of constant operation, the main concert hall, the Peer Gynt Hall, and other supporting spaces needed a complete technical renovation, particularly the stage equipment, infrastructure, ventilation, and modernization of the public areas. First, we helped the owners and management explore improvement options and developed a strategy and brief for the project. Then we worked to modernize the performance, public, and support spaces to transform it into a state-of-the-art 21st century venue. The renovation work for this project was completed in stages, with the Griegsalen concert hall upgrade completed in October 2014, and the Peer Gynt Hall renovations and other public area improvements completed in 2016.
