South Coast Repertory, Julianne Argyros Stage
An expansion of their existing facility provided South Coast Repertory—one of the country’s most prolific producers of new plays—with a versatile new venue, helping them stage ambitious works and meet an exhaustive production schedule. The expansion included a new lobby, classrooms, and a drama theatre with balcony and mezzanine seating, stepped-down side boxes and no seat farther than 39 feet from the stage. The venue features a full stagehouse, forestage extension, orchestra pit, trap room, three catwalks, control booth, and state-of-the art theatre equipment systems. In addition, the expansion included a new rehearsal studio, scene shop, costume shop, administrative offices, and additional support spaces.
