Stavanger Konserthus
This 148,000 square foot arts center is a vibrant and exciting new venue for all genres of musical performance, ranging from pop, rock, classical music, and musicals. At the heart of the building are two performance halls, more or less similar in volume, but opposite and complementary in content; one hall is a 1,500-seat concert hall, fine-tuned for natural acoustic, especially the philharmonic orchestra, and one hall is a 800-seat multipurpose theatre serving many functions—amplified music like rock and jazz, as well as musicals, dance, congresses and banquettes. This facility is part of a larger cultural initiative to provide the local community with a thriving arts scene.
