Woodruff Arts Center, The Coca-Cola Stage at Alliance Theatre
A complete reimagining of the Woodruff Center’s Alliance Theatre will include new balconies and side boxes, and a complete reseating of the Alliance Stage. The rearrangement will bring audiences closer to the stage, creating more intimate interactions, and new staircases and terraces will increase circulation and provide greater access for people with disabilities. The renovation also includes a new audio system, upgrades to LED lighting, new dressing rooms, and multipurpose rooms that can be used for rehearsal, classes, and other events. We provided a programming and planning study, exploring the needs of Atlanta Symphony, Alliance Theatre, High Museum, and Young Audiences in order to unify their needs into a clear plan for revitalization of the Arts Building. Once complete, the project will encourage the production of more ambitious works, provide audiences with a more immersive and comfortable theatre-going experience, and allow Alliance to better connect with the Atlanta community.
