The Theatre Projects Board of Directors welcomes its newest member this month: company principal and head of Strategy & Operations, Gena Buhler. Gena and her division have seen meteoric growth since Gena’s hire in 2020, facilitating new service offerings and a diversification of client types vital to our vision of supporting institutions at all stages of their lifecycle.
“Embarking on this journey signifies a profound commitment,” shares Gena. “It is a dedicated effort to guide company progress, foster growth, uphold cherished values, and contribute to the strategic vision of our founders, partners, and fellow board members over the course of our remarkable 66 years in the industry. Anticipating the exciting future that awaits, I am eager to play my part in representing the diverse talents within our company and shaping the next chapter of our collective success.”
Gena joins fellow principals Scott Crossfield, Jim Niesel, and David H. Rosenburg on the board, and though January’s quarterly meeting marked her first attendance as a member, Gena has been engaged in board activity before, directing workshops and visioning sessions and advocating on behalf of her emerging division. This leadership is one of the many reasons why the board asked Gena to join.
“The Theatre Projects Board of Directors wanted to recognize the stellar work that Gena has done in growing the Strategy & Operations services that we deliver. Additionally, we wanted to avail ourselves of Gena’s business acumen and help bring a fresh perspective to our business dealings. We are looking forward to a productive and collaborative future with Gena’s presence on the board,” adds David.
During a time of exciting growth at Theatre Projects, Gena’s voice has been key in laying out new opportunities for client interaction and community building. She has recently launched booking and programming services for venues and has hired four new team members in the past 18 months. As a board member, Gena looks forward to expanding on these successes and participating in our ongoing work to shape spaces for story across diverse communities, project types, markets, and locations.
