Acoustician: Paris office

Join our team!

We’re looking for a full-time Acoustician to be based in our Paris studio. Starting as soon as possible, you will work on a range of exciting performing arts projects worldwide. We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in auditorium design and building acoustics, including acoustic modelling.

Responsibilities of the role

Working with our team, you will be expected to produce project deliverables appropriate to your experience level with limited supervision.

As part of the job, we’ll expect you to:

▸ Perform acoustic tests and environmental noise surveys

▸ Produce ODEON-based room acoustic models

▸ Manage your own projects and deliverables

▸ Contribute to the development of our acoustic activities with particular focus on automation and parametric design

▸ Provide comprehensive acoustic designs on your projects

▸ Produce room acoustics, sound insulation, and noise emission related calculations

About you

We’re looking for someone with a passion for the performing arts, who will contribute their own perspective, skills, and experience to our team.

Specifically, we require:

▸ Bachelor’s (preferably Masters) degree or International equivalent in acoustics (note exceptional candidates with degrees in other scientific subjects will be considered)

▸ Excellent IT skills

▸ Demonstration of past projects

▸ Minimum 3-5 years working experience as an acoustician with appropriate membership of a national professional organisation

▸ Excellent communication, information sharing, and meeting skills

▸ Fluent written and spoken French and English

▸ Proof of legal right to work within the European Union

▸ Proven ability to work collaboratively whilst multi-tasking

▸ Sense of humour and good team spirit

We’ll be particularly interested if you also have some of these skills:

▸ 3D modelling software such as Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, SketchUp, and BIM

▸ Auralisation techniques with software such as Max-MSP or 3D audio such as ambisonics and binaural

▸ ODEON room acoustics software

▸ Experience working within the performing arts

▸ AutoCAD and/or Microstation

▸ Environmental noise software such as CADNA-A

▸ Additional language skills would be a plus

▸ Full driving license
