Audiovisual Systems Design Drafter
The Performance Sound, Video, and Communications (PSVC) team at Theatre Projects is looking for an Audiovisual Systems Design Drafter to support the creation and development of audiovisual system designs for projects in the performing arts, higher education, the corporate world, and more. You will document designs throughout the iterative design process and may also assist colleagues in commissioning systems once installed.
You are someone who is comfortable in Revit and AutoCAD, and conversant in the general scope of construction-related documentation. While experience in performance sound and video control systems is a plus, the eagerness to gain understanding in these areas while carefully documenting your colleagues’ design decisions is the only prerequisite. The right person for this team will enjoy working with others in a team environment, have a passion for technology and the arts, and show compassion and empathy when explaining technical concepts to non-technical people.
We prefer this position to be located in our Denver office, but New York candidates will also be considered.
In general, this position will:
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD software to document audiovisual system requirements through floor plans, sections, single-line diagrams, and other detailed views to create a complete design package. Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other general document creation software are additional tools likely to be used in this work.
- Help prepare geometry for loudspeaker models in software like ArrayCalc, SoundVision, Mapp3D, and EASE.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 2 – 4 years of experience drafting with Revit and AutoCAD. Professional drafting experience in the integration, installation, or construction industry is preferred, but high-quality classwork will also be considered.
- Knowledge of the various components of a performance audio system and the ability to communicate how both the overall system and individual components function.
- The ability to meet deadlines with an accurate work product.
- The ability to problem-solve and prioritize tasks from multiple sources.
Drafter level. Salary range: $55,000 – $75,000 with great benefits like no-cost-to-employee health, dental, and vision coverage.
