What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a full-time Project Manager to join our team in Denver.
Remote candidates are not preferred for this role, so preference will be given to qualified candidates willing to be based in our Denver office. Please be aware that vaccination against COVID-19 is required for all US employees.
Responsibilities of the role
We are looking for a project manager who has strong experience in theatrical event producing, presenting, and operations. A project manager acts as TP’s primary representative on projects, to clients, and to the industry at large. This position ensures the clear and timely flow of project information and deliverables by collaborating internally and externally throughout a project, always keeping design intent and Theatre Projects quality standards at the forefront. This position travels frequently and is responsible for advocating for the client, the users, and for Theatre Projects’ employees.
Project managers are responsible for knowing everything going on with their projects and for delivering their projects on time, on budget, and to Theatre Projects’ quality standards.
The successful applicant will have broad knowledge of how performing arts and themed entertainment venues function from back of house to front of house, with significant exposure to different types of productions, facilities, and experiential spaces. They will approach their work with humor, patience, and the understanding that theatre consulting is a service industry requiring client relationship management at every step.
As part of the job, we’ll expect you to:
- Perform client and sales work in North America, including travel:
- Meet or exceed sales target expectations appropriate to seniority level
- Develop and manage client relationships
- Review and progress proposals
- Review and progress contracts
- Manage project profitability
- Manage internal teams, including deliverable deadline schedules, prepare deliverables:
- Prepare equipment schedules and equipment budgets
- Prepare guideline documentation and schedules
- Prepare specifications
- Provide quality control over all project deliverables
- Deliver all project documents on time
- Participate in system commissioning and end-of-project close-out processes
- Participate in team meetings, cross-departmental duties as assigned, and collaboration sessions
- Stay up to date with industry trends
About you
We’re looking for someone who will contribute their own perspective, skills, and experience to our projects. Specifically, we’re looking for someone with:
- Sharp attention to detail, with solid technical and time management skills
- Robust written and verbal communication skills
- Project management certification not required, but highly valued
- Robust listening skills
- Comfort working in latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to apply best practices and knowledge of theatrical event producing, presenting, and operations to project work
- Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple sources and stay on deadline
- Project management experience in the performing arts, themed entertainment, construction, architecture, or engineering industries
- Proof of legal right to work in the United States
- Domestic travel required, international travel possible; valid passport required
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
Our project work is international, so if you speak a foreign language, that’d be a bonus. This position will travel regularly in North American and possibly abroad.
What we offer
We’re looking to hire this position at the Associate level, with an annual salary range of $110,000 – $140,000. Candidates with less senior experience will be considered at the Senior Consultant level in a lower salary range dependent on your level of experience.
