Allan Xenius Grige
Having worked in the cultural industries since 1984—from performer to CEO and artistic director—Allan has first-hand practical experience in the management, programming, and operation of performing arts venues. He draws on this knowledge to provide feasibility studies, venue programming, audience service development, and marketing strategies, as well as helping our clients to establish cultural education programs.
Before joining Theatre Projects, Allan was an independent consultant, working with venues, festivals, museums, and touring productions. He’s also been the CEO and artistic director of the Esbjerg Performing Arts Center, the general manager of the Danish Radio Concert Hall, a marketer for the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, an arts lecturer at Copenhagen Business School, and a tour manager, national director, event program manager, and director of admission and corporate service for a US-based international touring and arts education program.
Allan’s contribution to the arts sector also extends to co-authoring Celebrate to Prosper, a book examining the relationship between cultural events and urban and regional development, as well as serving on cultural advisory panels and boards. In addition, he was the founding chairman of FED, the Association for Festivals and Events in Denmark, and he has served as chairman of the European chapter of the International Festival and Events Association since 2006.
Our Team
It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
