Andrew Hagan

Associate, New England

After over 15 years with the company, Andrew supports Theatre Projects teams across a wide range of roles. The theatre equipment team leader and the practice team’s resource manager, Andrew balances his design work with frequent leadership and mentoring opportunities. Day-to-day, he can be found supporting fellow designers, mapping project needs and work assignments, producing drafting design and construction documents, reviewing submittal documents, and commissioning rigging and lighting systems. He also manages Theatre Projects’ BIM standards and process.

Andrew joined Theatre Projects from the School of Theatre at Florida State University, where he worked as master carpenter and assistant shop manager. At FSU, he taught AutoCAD and Intro to Scenery Construction, and he also guest lectured at the Yale School of Drama on AutoCAD for the theatre. Andrew holds more than two and a half decades of technical theatre experience, including as the technical director at Kenyon College in Ohio, the assistant technical director for the Delaware Theatre Company (Wilmington, DE), the assistant technical director for New Stage Theatre (Jackson, MI), a carpenter at Arena Stage (Washington, DC), and a lighting and sound technician in many other venues.

Andrew received his bachelor of fine arts in theatre design/technology from Otterbein College and his master of fine arts in theatrical technical production from Florida State University. He is a full member with the American Society of Theatre Consultants, and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, and playing video games.

Our Team

It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
