Dave Agnew
With over 20 years’ experience in technical theatre, scenery building, and production, Dave has a first-hand knowledge of how theatres work and what it takes to get a show to opening night. His pragmatic approach to managing projects sees him working closely with design teams and contractors at every stage of a project to make sure the finished result meets the client’s needs.
Dave joined us in 2017 from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where he was responsible for teaching all aspects of production and technical management, managing and maintaining all three of their performance spaces, and managing more than 20 student productions each year plus commercial rentals and special events. Previously, he worked in the scenery workshop of London’s Royal Opera House, was a deputy technical stage manager at the Lyric Hammersmith, and managed the construction department at the Palace Theatre in Watford. Dave has been a stage manager for Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the Music Hall space at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms. He’s also stage-managed a touring production of the musical Shockheaded Peter in the West End and Broadway, and has been the technical manager for a UK and European tour with the street dance company, Bounce.
Dave continues to work as a freelancer, doing production and technical management for several companies in the cultural, entertainment, educational, and corporate sectors. He holds a Diploma of Higher Education in theatre studies (technical arts) from London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Our Team
It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
