Eric Furbish
Eric Furbish is a Senior Consultant in the Architecture Division at Theatre Projects, where he helps shape the future of performance spaces through innovative, forward-thinking design. With a strong foundation in lighting design and consulting, Eric brings decades of experience and a creative edge to projects that redefine what performance venues can be.
Prior to joining Theatre Projects, Eric was a key contributor at Charcoalblue, where his portfolio included high-profile projects like the Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center, Chicago’s renowned Steppenwolf Theatre, immersive museum installations, and unique nightlife environments. These experiences honed his strengths in design, technical coordination, and project management—skills he now brings to bear in realizing state-of-the-art cultural spaces.
With over 20 years in the industry, Eric’s career spans theatre, broadcast, experiential environments, and live events. His ability to navigate and lead within diverse project types speaks to both his adaptability and deep knowledge of performance technologies.
Eric is an active voice in the industry, contributing to panels and sessions with organizations such as NATEAC and USITT, where he champions accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability in the performing arts. He holds a B.F.A. from the University of Central Florida and is a proud member of IATSE United Scenic Artists Local 829.

We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
