Hazel Clover

Senior Consultant, London

Hazel heads up strategic, business and operational planning services for our London office working across the UK, Europe, Asia and Middle East. Hazel’s venue management and programming expertise gives her a core understanding of what operators, users, audiences and performers need from a venue which supports design and functionality planning. Hazel works with our teams across our projects from early concept and feasibility through to operational readiness. Projects range from new and repurposed buildings, major developments and regional community spaces across the not-for-profit, government, education and commercial sectors.

Hazel ran her own theatre management consultancy company from 2009 – 2019 serving as an associate for Theatre Projects from 2014 working on UK and international projects, before joining the senior consultancy team in 2020. In her earlier career, Hazel managed venues across the UK ranging from 500 to 5,000 seat capacity. She headed up theatre and arts services and capital projects management for Ipswich Borough Council and Leicester City Council. Hazel has directed and developed multi-disciplinary teams, programmed and co-produced for venues, festivals and residencies.

Hazel holds qualifications in psychology research from the Open University and a Master of Arts in theatre consultancy from the University of Warwick. She is a member of the Institute of Theatre Consultants, UK Theatre, Opera Europa and the International Society for the Performing Arts. Hazel was a member of the Editorial Board for the 2014 International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference and an editorial contributor to the 2024 ABTT Theatre Design Guide. Hazel is a Director and Trustee of the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft, UK.

Our Team

It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
