Tom Lamming
A mechanical engineer by training, Tom heads our stage engineering team with a detailed knowledge of the interconnected systems and processes that a performance space needs. He collaborates with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to seamlessly integrate complex stage engineering solutions into a venue’s design.
Tom is also one of our project managers so his involvement starts at the very earliest project stages. He works closely with the client at the beginning to understand their needs and then uses this knowledge to inform his decisions through every stage of project development and construction, resulting in a space that’s fully functional and purpose-designed to serve its users.
Before joining Theatre Projects, Tom was a technical manager at Delstar Engineering, where he worked on installations for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Festival Hall. He’s also worked on a variety of West End shows, including Billy Elliot and Mamma Mia!, as well as on production equipment for shows at the National Theatre and Glyndebourne.
Tom has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in mechanical engineering with aeronautics from Brunel University. He’s currently studying towards a Master of Arts in theatre consultancy from Warwick University.

Our Team
It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
