Corning Museum of Glass, Amphitheater Hot Shop
The Amphitheatre Hot Shop was designed to accommodate larger audiences for live glassblowing demonstrations, while still offering the Corning Museum the flexibility to transform the room into a flat floor for dinners, banquets, and live entertainment. We worked with the architect to shape the room and create an intimate audience-artist dynamic, perfect for the show’s educational nature. The result was a robust, dynamic venue with a 360-degree mezzanine and a one-of-a-kind retractable seating system. Agile theatre equipment also contributes to the venue’s unique flexibility and versatility.
