Dubai Opera
Dubai needed a versatile venue that could accommodate ballet, opera, musicals, amplified music, spoken word, and traditional Arabic performance art. So we collaborated with the design team to create a theatre that can change its physical form to perfectly suit the needs of any type of event or performance. At the heart of the new 645,000 square foot Dubai Opera is a remarkable multiform theatre that can convert from opera house, to concert hall to flat floor banquet room and more. State-of-the-art mechanized systems alter the position of the room’s side boxes, walls, ceiling panels, stage, and seating wagons—completely transforming the venue in less than four hours.
