Goddard Riverside Community Center, The Bernie Wohl Center
Collaborating with this beloved community center and working within their budget, we met with the staff and users to understand their goals, resources, and limitations. Through thoughtful and coordination and efficiency—and drawing on our team’s extensive experience—we provided the center with a flexible theatre that has surprising artistic capability.
We ensured that the theatre’s infrastructure gave the community center room to expand in the future. The new auditorium features a pipe grid, draperies, curtain track, and a modern lighting/dimmer system. With no fixed seating, the room can be arranged to suit any type of performance. The venue regularly hosts dance, drama, and community events, and the center’s additional new spaces include recreation areas for youth and community programs.
