Lowell Performance Pavilion at Boarding House Park

Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
Jim Higgins

Set at the center of Boarding House Park—a National Historic Park commemorating Lowell’s 19th century textile factories and mill workers—this steel-trellised, open-air pavilion is perfect for events like Lowell’s Summer Music Series.

The proscenium-style stage looks out onto a grass lawn which can hold up to 1,700 and features two towers for lighting and audio equipment designed with a matching steel trellis style.  Lighting, scenic elements, and audio-video equipment can also be hung overhead from the pavilion, which was designed not just for performances, but also as an outdoor market and a trolley stop.
