National University of Singapore, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music
This striking new 107,000-square-foot arts and education center forms the central pillar of the National University of Singapore’s Music program, and serves as an invaluable incubator and platform for regional artists. The state-of-the-art facilities include a stunning 600-seat concert hall featuring gently undulating wood-toned walls and two rows of wraparound balconies. Our approach to room and stage design helps create an incredible intimacy for a venue of its size, benefiting visitors concert-going experience, and aiding students who gain insight and feedback from the immediacy of the audience. The building includes a slate of rehearsal, studio, and practice spaces including a 70-seat recital hall, eight ensemble rooms, a music library, practice and administrative spaces, and a communal lobby. The building’s recording studio stands as is one of the largest and most advanced in Asia, connecting to the concert hall and recital hall, ensuring a seamless link between performance and recording spaces.
