Ogden Egyptian Center, Peery’s Egyptian Theater
Ogden, Utah, USA
Gary Griffeth/Ogden Eccles Conference Center
This theatre was a 1920s “atmospheric” movie house which has been extensively refurbished and revitalized and now serves as a fully equipped proscenium theatre seating 800. The theatre is adjacent to the David Eccles Conference Center and serves as the the home of Weber State University’s Utah Musical Theatre and other local arts groups.
Aside from new patron amenities, the renovation included the design of a modern stage house with robust rigging system, a trapped floor and expanded backstage areas. The new orchestra pit floor is on a mechanized lift, allowing it to be repositioned for extra seating or as an extension to the front of the stage.
