Overture Center for the Arts
The center is the result of the renovation and expansion of the Madison Civic Center by a partnership of the Overture Foundation and the City of Madison. Completely funded by the Foundation, the project incorporates new, renovated, and rehabbed performance venues as well as new galleries for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters.
Spaces include a new 2,255-seat multipurpose theatre (Overture Hall), a renovated 1,000-seat multipurpose theatre (Capitol Theater), a renovated 350-seat thrust theatre (Playhouse), a new 200-seat children’s theatre (Rotunda Stage), a new 200-seat flexible theatre (Promenade Hall), and gallery space.
