San Jose, California, USA

The 565-seat proscenium theatre offers modern theatrical technology and a classic playhouse form in a contemporary mix. The auditorium features orchestra, parterre, and balcony seating areas with side seating boxes extending down toward a unique “flex zone” at the stage apron. The Hammer Theatre Center was taken over by San Jose State University in 2016 and the facility now serves as a nexus between the university and community, hosting a variety of local and regional arts groups, national touring acts, and student-led productions.
