Shakespeare & Company, Tina Packer Playhouse
Lenox, Massachusetts, USA
Peter Mauss/Esto
The two seating levels are constructed of scaffolding with canvas balcony fronts laced to the scaffold framework. These galleries continue around to the back of the stage area and can be demounted so that the stage can be reconfigured to a thrust. The flooring on the upper level is made of standard aluminum planks with special devices to dampen flexing and creaking.
