St. Catherine’s School, Arts and Innovation Center
This new 54,500-square-foot arts and innovation center provides St. Catherine’s School—a private all-girls school for grades 3-12—with an unmistakable campus icon and an exemplary tool for student growth and exploration. The facility features classrooms, administrative spaces, visual arts studios, public spaces, and state-of-the-art performance and rehearsal venues. Theatre Projects took a holistic approach—considering alternating performance types, the need for rapid changeover, and students unique performace, rehearsal, and educational needs—to develop the facility’s main performance space, a 540-seat multipurpose proscenium theatre. The venue freatures a balcon, stepped down side boxes, accessible stage, three catwalks, and extremely versatile and future-proof performance equipment and audiovisual systems. The facility also features a 200-seat dance studio and performance innovation lab. Support spaces include shops for scenery, painting, props, lighting, and costumes, dressing rooms and green room. Together the venues provide students with nurturing and boundless venues to create works of drama, music, dance, and spoken word.
