St. Catherine’s School, Arts and Innovation Center

Richmond, Virginia, USA

The St. Catherine’s Arts and Innovation Center is a new addition to the south side of St. Catherine’s campus, for use by both their community and St. Christopher’s School. The facility was designed as a solution to its expanding arts programs not having a home that adequately support student learning and performance. And since its opening, the space has housed music, dance, and theatre performances, as well as classes, art exhibits, and much more.

“The arts program is very important to our girls and their families. I think this facility will take it to the next level.”
Christopher Williams, St. Catherine's board chair

The St. Catherine’s Arts and Innovation Center includes a 550-seat, two-story theatre with tiered side balconies, a 56′ fly tower to accommodate stage sets for flexible usage, three lighting catwalks, state-of-the-art acoustics, a dedicated control booth, a scene shop, a Creativity Lab, expansive light-filled lobbies, and flexible spaces for art galleries, wellness activities, and community gatherings.
