The Ferguson Center for the Arts is a transformative 201,470-square-foot complex that blends ambitious new construction with strategic adaptive reuse to create a world-class cultural hub. Completed in two phases, the project converted an existing gymnasium into a versatile 550-seat Music and Theatre venue while adding a new experimental studio theatre and a stunning 1,750-seat proscenium theatre. Designed for maximum versatility, the facility accommodates a vast range of programming. The mainstage proscenium venue features three tiers of seating, full fly tower, orchestra pit, and demountable orchestra shell. The room’s warm and rich wood tones, and thoroughly integrated performance equipment and rigging allow audiences to focus squarely on the performances—this thoughtful design combined with a seating design that maximizes intimacy and draws performers and guests close together helps create a memorable and highly impactful theatregoing experience. The studio theatre offers a flexible environment for experimental works and rehearsals.
