Haverford College, Roberts Music Building
This new home for the Department of Music’s entire core program was specifically designed to meet the college’s needs for regular performances, rehearsals, workshops, and instruction. The centerpiece of the facility is the 100-seat Michael Jaharis Recital Hall, which features advanced capabilities for sound and video recording as well as multimedia performances. Other learning and support spaces include classrooms, individual practice rooms and rehearsal spaces, a music library and gathering space, faculty and administrative offices, and temperature- and humidity-controlled instrument storage areas. Designed to complement the school’s existing performance and learning spaces at Roberts Hall—and to enhance the campus community’s longstanding engagement with the musical arts—these spaces integrate seamlessly into the fabric of student life and will serve the faculty well for the next 50 years.
