With over 25 years of experience in theatre consulting, audio-visual consulting, and architectural lighting design, Michael has an all-round, multi-disciplinary understanding of what it takes to design engaging and immersive spaces for art and entertainment.

As a project manager, Michael works on a variety of theatre and event space types ranging from local and community theaters to acoustically sensitive concert halls, multi-purpose theaters, and corporate meeting and presentation spaces. His diverse background informs his approach to projects and provides him the means to maintain a clear view of the big picture while managing the minute project details.

Michael has a unique specialty in design of performance venues for maritime projects, having joined Theatre Projects from Nautilus Entertainment Design (NED) where he was vice president and principal consultant working on both maritime and land-based performance venues and system designs. Over his 21 years at NED, he designed major venues as well as technical entertainment systems and architectural lighting for over 40 new cruise ships and similar number of retrofits.

As vice president of NED, Mike oversaw all facility design projects as well as day-to-day operations, while also directly managing the projects for several long-standing clients. Mike started his career as a mechanical system designer for both JR Clancy and ShowTech and was a freelance audio designer for television and movies.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and is a member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) – Local 74, where he’s been working as a stagehand since 1996.
