Bronxville Schools Auditorium Renovation
With an elementary, middle, and high school sharing a single campus and only one well-worn 93-year-old theatre to share between them, Bronxville Union Free School District was in serious need of a renovation. To provide the schools with more versatile, comfortable, intimate, and user-friendly performance space, Theatre Projects entirely reimagined the 1925 theatre, adding side boxes with ADA access points, expanding the balcony out toward the stage, wrapping it around the room, and reducing the seat count to 508 for a more dynamic and intimate environment. Seating was replaced and re-raked for clearer sightlines and a more comfortable viewing experience, and unique pitched catwalks, which hold efficient LED performance lighting, were designed, specified and installed above the room's distinctive wood and fabric ceiling.
