Kilden Performing Arts Centre

This new cultural center houses a 1,180-seat concert hall for symphonic music concerts, but with the flexibility to accommodate more spectators for rhythmic concerts. The 650-seat Main Stage is designed for drama performances, but can accommodate 700 people for larger scale performances such as operas and musical productions. The center also include a flat-floor black box studio theatre, a 220-seat multipurpose hall, and an auditorium for 'Den Kulturell Skolesekken' (a national culture policy initiative). The center houses three of the region's largest and most important cultural institutions: Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Agder Theatre and Opera South. The consolidation of the three institutions in one cultural center will redefine the Norwegian way of thinking about cultural institutions as it will pave the way for an artistic development across different art forms.
