National Theatre of the Cayman Islands, F. J. Harquail Theatre
George Town, Cayman Islands, British West Indies
Theatre Projects
A tubular steel structure was assembled inside the shell of the existing building and performance equipment was installed. The 330-seat proscenium stage can be used with or without an orchestra pit or forestage extensions. The theatre can adapt to thrust, in-the-round, flat floor, or ‘promenade’ staging. Seating is not fixed so it converts easily to an open, flat-floor area for a wide variety of uses.
