It’s been an incredibly difficult year for everyone in the live entertainment industry. When Covid-19 struck, it was the first industry to be affected by widespread closures and is likely to be the last to recover. So, this year we thought we’d do something different for the holiday season—something that will directly benefit some of the people who’ve been hit hardest.
Instead of sending seasonal greetings cards and desk calendars to our friends and colleagues, we’re sending gifts to the communities we care about. Our holiday gifts this year are a monetary donation to an arts organization as well as to a community charity.
But the spirit of fun and collaboration is such an integral part of who we are, and we don’t want to do this without you. So, we thought we’d find a way to have some fun too. We’ve created a lighthearted quiz that tests your knowledge of our team and our work. The winners can nominate where the prize money goes, and we’ll make that donation in your name.
So let’s help those that are close to our hearts—and have some fun in the process.
How can I participate?
Step one is to sign up for the quiz. If you’re already on our regular mailing list, you’ll be automatically entered for the quiz, but it doesn’t hurt to sign up again if you’re not sure!
Step two is to check your inbox and participate! We’ll be releasing the quiz in three installments at 9am EST on each Friday in the run-up to Christmas (December 4, 11, and 18). Each installment will contain five questions with multiple choice answers (spoiler: all the answers are on our website or social media feeds, so that should make it easier for you!) If, for some reason, you don’t see the emails in your inbox, check your junk mail folder or our social media feeds for a link the latest installment.
You’ll need to participate in all three installments to increase your chances of winning! And all three installments need to be answered by 9am EST on Monday, December 21.
What are the prizes?
There are three amazing prizes. They’ll be awarded based on the highest number of correct answers. If more than one person is tied for the top place, we’ll put their names in a hat, shake it up, and pick a winner at random.
1st prize:
$5,000 to be donated to a performing arts organization or venue of your choice. (Note: must be a US-based organization and a registered charity)
2nd prize:
$1,500 to be donated to a US-based community-related charity of your choice. This could be a food bank, educational outreach program, or any other charitable organization that provides a valuable community service.
3rd prize:
Our time and talents! What does this mean? Well, we don’t want to spoil the surprise…but you’ll find out more about this if you’re the lucky winner!
