Arts Commons
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Theatre Projects
Arts Commons (formerly EPCOR Centre for Performing Arts) was completed in 1985 and includes the beautiful 1,797-seat Jack Singer Concert Hall (the first purpose-built concert hall in Western Canada), the flexible 750-seat Max Bell Theatre, and the 412-seat Martha Cohen Theatre, an intimate courtyard performance space.
The concert hall has been hailed for its outstanding acoustics, which are ideal for symphonies, choruses, and a wide range of performances. Resident theatre companies, touring acts, and community groups have found the arts center to be an accommodating second home—and that has attracted millions of visitors since the facility first opened its doors.
