The City of Orlando contracted us in 1985 to examine the feasibility of a new performing arts center. Our recommendation was to wait—the city had a growing cultural scene, but we advised them to develop it further and create an arts organization to gather support and resources. Once the performing arts scene had flourished further, we developed a cultural masterplan, then worked with architects Barton Myers Associates, HKS, and Baker Barrios Architects to design a world-class home for those artists.
