Folger Shakespeare Library, Elizabethan Theatre

We reviewed the condition of the theatre and its equipment, and made recommendations for renovation including a new seating layout. The ensuing project maximized the seat count, refined sightlines, and provided sturdy, quiet, and comfortable fixed seats in place of the former loose seats. By creating access points for persons in wheelchairs, the theatre can now provide a more inclusive and comfortable theatre-going experience for everyone—all without clashing with the room’s beautiful Elizabethan aesthetic.
