Jean-Monnier Congress Centre
Angers, France
Patrice Campion
To meet the needs of its varied programming and current compliance regulations, the City of Angers decided to renovate the technical installations in the existing 1,200-seat auditorium and add a new 400-seat conference hall to increase the venue’s capability to host simultaneous events.
Adapting the main auditorium to host a large symphonic orchestra one week and a film festival the next posed several technical and acoustic challenges. We’ve designed and specified modern theatre technology and adjustable acoustics for the room as well as an integrated orchestra shell to further improve the acoustics. The building’s public and administration spaces have also been reorganized.
