Theatre Projects’ involvement in the Royal Centre dates back to the 1970s, when we provided consulting advice on the design, planning and technical equipment systems for the renovation of the Theatre Royal, and later the Royal Concert Hall. Three decades later, the Royal Centre is still a project of huge significance to us. In 2009, we conducted studies and reviews of the building to ‘future-proof’ the venue for the next 25 years so that it can continue to be one of the UK’s best touring venues. This task involved reviewing the current and anticipated uses, opportunities, and constraints of each space in the center.
