David H. Rosenburg

Managing Director, New England

David has been a project manager with Theatre Projects since 1997. He works with our clients and the design team to program and plan their theatres and coordinates our team’s efforts on projects.

David has an extensive background as a theatrical lighting designer, production manager, technical director, and stage manager. He was the associate lighting designer for the Broadway production of Our Town with Paul Newman. For 15 years he toured worldwide with prominent dance companies. His designs can be seen in the repertories of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Donald Byrd/The Group, The Dance Exchange, Le Conservatoire National Superior de Paris, Atlanta Ballet, and Oregon Ballet Theatre. His work has taken him throughout western and eastern Europe as well as the Paris Opera (Garnier), the Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center.

David received both his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in theatre lighting design from Boston University. His graduate thesis project was an architectural rehabilitation project for Emerson College’s Majestic Theatre in Boston. He is a member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants. When he’s not creating great theatre spaces, he loves to drive—moonroof open and tunes cranked!

Our Team

It takes a village to create a special place for a community to call home. Our team brings together specialists with backgrounds in the performing arts, architecture, mechanical engineering, lighting design, acoustics, and more to offer a holistic approach to creating, renovating, or repurposing all forms of storytelling spaces. We understand the decisions that need to be made at every stage of the project and we know how to make a performance space work for artists, audience, and production teams.
